Hank and Ryan’s Story

Hank is 6 years old now, but his story with Ryan started long before he ever became “the big baby” of the house.

Hank was found at just five weeks old, hungry and dehydrated. He was rescued at the Taos Pueblo and brought to Four Corners Animal League, where he received care and nourishment for his fragile little body. Not long after, at seven weeks old, Hank was adopted into a loving family.

From the beginning, Hank’s favorite person was a young boy named Ryan. The two of them formed a strong, special bond and truly grew up together, creating countless cherished memories along the way. The family stayed connected over the years too, sharing pictures and videos of Hank growing up in a wonderful home.

Hank has his quirks, and honestly, they only make him more lovable. Ryan and the family think the reason he carries his blanket around is because he was probably taken from his mom too young. He’s just a big baby and goofy, and he likes other dogs too.

He’s the kind of dog who can always find something to do, whether it’s watching the fish in the pond, catching snowballs, or wrestling with Ryan. And when the day winds down, Hank has a favorite calm ritual: hanging out in the plant room, watching birds fly to the bird feeder.

Hank and Ryan’s story is the kind that sticks with you. A little dog rescued at five weeks old, a kid who became his person, and a life built on love, play, and a very well-loved blanket.
